Vaughan Fulmer its director has significant experience in the resources sector having worked in both global firms in Australia and Indonesia as well as in-house legal and commercial roles for some of the largest global resources and green energy companies including: Norilsk Nickel, BHP, Rio Tinto. and Fortescue Future Industries

In addition through his pro-bono work in the Not for Profit sector Vaughan has gained significant experience in the mass participation event and sporting areas. The firm is pleased to advise that it has been selected on the AOC Pro Bono Referral List for the 2021 Olympic Games in Tokyo.

Prior to completing his legal training Vaughan spent over a decade working in the resources sector as a safety and health professional in various regions of Australia.

• the divestment of Norilsk Nickel Australia’s Operation and Exploration Assets in Australia;

• the divestment of a large Australia royalty portfolio to a foreign purchaser;

• Sponsorship and Event Agreements for the largest cycling event in Western Australia; and

• Management of all facets of tenements and mineral exploration both in Australia and Indonesia.

WHY

GC 4 You (a.k.a General Counsel for You) is a flexible in-house counsel service designed to assist those small to medium sized business that either:

1. Don’t have the budget to hire a full-time in house counsel but need an on call resource on either a short term or long term basis; or

2. Have an existing legal counsel but have a major project that requires additional in house support but don’t want the fees associated with a traditional private practice firm.

Options

You can either have a General Counsel resource based in your office or remotely the choice is yours.

our approach

Fulmer Legal has a flexible approach to its fee structures, to create the best fit for the companies we serve.

Fees can be an hourly rate that is substantially less than the rate charged even by smaller law firms. And we are always happy to supply hard estimates for specific projects, allowing you to budget and plan appropriately.

For clients who wish to have a day rate with a dedicated service up to 2 days/week to the client, we often agree on a negotiated weekly or monthly rate. Generally, if translated into an hourly rate, the negotiated rates are less than one-third of the rates charged by traditional law firms for comparable levels of expertise. And at two days per week, our rates are one-third to one-half of the cost of hiring a full-time general counsel.

We don’t charge for regular photocopies, domestic phone calls or other incidental expenses. We expect to get paid for our legal expertise, not for our ordinary costs of doing business.
